Clarify My Mind To View The World: The Artworks of Xiaobai Su
“Clarify My Mind to View the World” exemplifies a clear and limpid state of mind while observing nature. In Xiaobai Su’s works, the grand narrative structure is never seen, but we find an abstract landscape imbued with Zen atmosphere. Su had studied in the Central Institute of Fine Arts in Beijing and then entered Düsseldorf Academy of Fine Arts in Germany under the instruction of modern art masters such as Konrad Klapheck, Gerhard Richter, Markus Lüpertz. Influenced by western and Chinese cultures, what Su keeps meditating is the inner nature and spirit of Art. The simplistic, pure color and form are his creative vocabularies, which construct a particular sense of being, vitality and a baffling visual charm in the two dimensional world of canvas. Since the year 1998, Xiaobai Su has held several solo exhibitions. His works have been exhibited in major citiesin Belgium, Spain, China and Germany.
