Yang Mao-Lin and Yao Jui-Chung are participating in the group exhibition All the Immortals Paying Tribute to Gods: The Art of Folk Religion focusing on works of art inspired by folk beliefs. The interactions between traditional and contemporary qualities thoroughly reflect the development of arts and local cultures throughout history.
The Canonized Karma of Maha with Mandalas series by Yang Mao Lin includes bronze sculptures modeled after characters like Wu Kong, Peter Pan and panda. The finishing textures and coloring resonate with Yang's personal aesthetics influenced by his past painting practices. The two paintings by Yao Jui-Chung, on the other hand, are from the Vimala-bhūmi series, in which the artist continued with his grandiose visual style and paying tribute to classic works, presenting his explorations regarding religious figures and personal spiritual space.
